• All video recordings happen entirely locally on your machine. We do not have access to the video files you create.

2. Permissions We Request and Why

To function correctly, StreamMonkey DVR requests the following browser permissions. All data handled by these permissions stays locally on your device:

• Downloads: We require this permission solely to save the video files you record directly to your computer's local hard drive.
• Storage: We use local browser storage to save your specific user preferences and extension settings so they remain active the next time you open your browser.

3. Third-Party Network Requests (Ads)

To support the ongoing development of the Extension, StreamMonkey DVR may occasionally connect to our secure backend server to fetch a list of custom promotional messages or advertisements.

• This network request does not send any of your personal data, browsing habits, or recorded media to our servers.
• It is strictly a one-way request to retrieve ad content to display within the extension interface.

4. Data Security

Because your recorded videos and personalized settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers, their security is governed by the security of your own personal computer and browser.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We advise you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
